How to get from São Paulo

Ilhabela is located on the North Coast of the State of São Paulo, near the cities of Caraguatatuba and São Sebastião, 190 km from the city of São Paulo and 440 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro.
There are several ways to get to the island:

Terminal Bus Station of Tiête - SP

At the Bus Terminal itself, go to the Litorânea Company counter and request a ticket to SÃO SEBASTIÃO (all times will leave you at the Ferry Terminal for Ilhabela).

Get off at the São Sebastião Ferry Terminal> Ilhabela.
Cross the ferry * free on foot, walk for 50 meters, and choose one of these two options:
1 - Circular Bus, to the South of Ilhabela, itineraries Borrifos or São Pedro.
Estimated time of the course: 20 minutes - Exit every 15 minutes - 06:00 to 00:50.
Request to get off a stop after the Basic Health Unit (UBS) of Curral - in front of Pousada Praia do Curral.

There are three routes to Ilhabela; Choose the best one for your starting point in São Paulo:
1- S. Paulo> S. José dos Campos> Caraguatatuba> S. Sebastião> Ilhabela
Leaving the São Paulo capital, access the Ayrton Senna / Carvalho Pinto (SP 70) and Presidente Dutra (BR 116) highways towards Rio de Janeiro.
At the time of the city of São José dos Campos, use the exit for the Highway of the Tamoios (SP 99), towards the Litoral (Caraguatatuba and São Sebastião).
This route, now has duplicated tracks and has pavement in good condition.
At the end of the Tamoios Highway, in Caraguatatuba, turn right South towards São Sebastião, where there is the ferry to Ilhabela.
Route: 210 Km.

2 - S. Paulo> Mogi das Cruzes> Bertioga> S. Sebastião> Ilhabela
It is also possible to opt for the Mogi-Bertioga Highway. Leaving the city of São Paulo, from Mogi das Cruzes, access to SP 98 - Mogi-Bertioga Highway.
At the end of this Highway, already in the City of Bertioga, access the Rio-Santos Highway on the left towards S. Sebastião where you will take the ferry to Ilhabela.
This way is indicated for those who are not in a hurry to arrive and like to enjoy the view, since the road margins the coast and provides great points to enjoy the view of the sea, besides giving access to dozens of
paradisiac beaches.
Route: 190 Km.
Ride time: 3:30 p.m. to the ferry *.

3 - S. Paulo> Baixada Santista> Cubatão> S. Sebastião> Ilhabela
Another option is to leave São Paulo through the Anchieta-Imigrantes Complex until Baixada Santista.
Before the end of the Highway, exit towards Cubatão / Guarujá, accessing the Piaçaguera-Guarujá Highway. After the Toll (free passage), turn left onto Bertioga / S. Sebastião, accessing the beginning of the Rio-Santos Highway.
Continue straight ahead until S. Sebastião, where you will take the ferry to Ilhabela.
This way is indicated for those who also like to enjoy the view, since the route margeia the north coast of SP and provides great points to enjoy the view of the sea, besides giving access to dozens of paradisiac beaches.
Distance: 200 Km.
